Adult Scooters – Practical, Enjoyable, and Tailored for Teenagers & Adults
Our collection includes adult scooters fit for any purpose. We aim to offer a range of high-quality scooters from reputable brands, presenting the best choices across various price ranges.
Known as commuter scooters, adult versions are crafted for adults seeking a practical, swift, and enjoyable mode of transport.
Adult scooters can support individuals weighing up to 100 kg (or 220 lbs), with certain models accommodating even heavier users. Whether you're commuting to the office or enjoying a park ride with your children, if you're in search of an adult scooter, this is the right spot.
What Defines an Adult Scooter?
Adult scooters are constructed to be safe and practical ways for adults to get around. They are bigger than stunt scooters, designed to keep weight minimal while being sturdy enough to support an adult's weight.
Typical adult scooter features include:
- Adjustable handlebars, ideally suited for teenagers and adults
- Folding feature for effortless transport and storage
- Large wheels with a diameter of 200 mm or larger
- Durable yet lightweight build
Why Opt for Foldable Scooters?
Foldable scooters serve well for daily use. Collapsing the scooter for storage saves space, making it practical for public transport or storing in compact areas, such as your car boot.
Modern scooters feature reliable, user-friendly folding mechanisms, often utilising a quick-release locking pin. You can easily fold the scooter without needing any tools.
Foldable or Non-Foldable Scooters?
Your choice between a foldable and non-foldable scooter should align with your needs:
- Foldable scooters are ideal for portability and easy to carry.
- Non-foldable scooters offer superior stability, durability, and comfort for longer journeys.
Our adult scooter selection includes both foldable and non-foldable options. While all are sturdy and safe, foldable models may have a potential vulnerability at the folding mechanism, unlike non-foldable ones.
If engaging in longer rides or navigating tougher terrain, a non-foldable scooter might suit you better. Nevertheless, the folding mechanism is a fabulous feature enabling easy transport and storage of the scooter.
Which Scooter Size is Appropriate?
Assess the space between the ground and the height at which holding the handlebars feels comfortable. Your perfect handlebar height should fall between your hips and navel height. After determining this, add 5 cm to accommodate the deck-to-ground distance.
Examine the total height specification of the scooter model you're exploring. The total height refers to the distance from the ground to the handlebar's top. For scooters with adjustable handlebars, this is presented as a range – the lower figure represents the minimum handlebar height, while the upper value is the maximum.
Do Adult Scooters Feature Hand Brakes?
Not every adult scooter comes with a hand brake, although all do include a rear fender brake. Speed can be reduced by using the fender brake, a hand brake (if available), or placing a foot on the ground to gain friction. While intuitive, using your foot wears down shoe soles prematurely. Opting for a scooter with a reliable fender brake or hand brake (or both) is advisable for commuting.
Hand brakes facilitate faster, more controlled stops. Commuter scooters benefit from hand brakes, offering increased traffic safety and precise speed control. Though not critical, we strongly suggest hand brakes for commuting.
