These ceramic bearings are a special edition of the esteemed and durable Bones Reds bearings. Thanks to the ceramic balls, the bearings are lighter and more robust, which helps prolong their lifespan. The ceramic balls do not rust and will typically crush any sand that enters the bearing.
You should still steer clear of sand and water as they will always significantly reduce bearing life, especially if you do not clean the item afterwards. Furthermore, it is important to keep in mind that the metal ring around the bearing will naturally still rust.
The following features are noted on the bearing:
- Features grade 5, silicon nitride, hot isostatically pressed ceramic balls.
- Superior quality steel races with an enhanced surface finish.
- Single non-contact removable rubber shield for ease of cleaning and reduced friction.
- High-speed nylon ball retainer offering greater strength and speed.
- Pre-lubricated with Speed Cream ™ racing lubricant.
- Skate Rated ™ clearances, tolerances, materials and lubricant provide optimal performance and durability.
