City SUPing - the sweet escape
We promised to be back with some more city SUP stories. And here they are - take a tour around London, Amsterdam, and Riva del Garda.
Just one important notice that needs to be made when we are talking city SUPing is to make sure your spot of choice is allowed to be paddled. Big cities often have safety restrictions on some spots when it comes to stand-up paddlers.
London calling
Cosmopolitan, a little crazy, and often a bit too crowded - this is London. But have you tried looking around the building corners and beyond the city edges? When the stress gets a wee too much, or you simply want to take your iSup out ‘for a walk’, London has quite a few spots to offer. Some sections of the river Thames are an obvious choice and if you want a bit more closed spot, try the Royal Docs.
I AmS (UP) terdam
With its vast canal network, the city of Amsterdam is a great spot for all SUP lovers. It is romantic, it is beautiful, and will give you another perspective of the cityscape. The best about the city canals is that you are close to the city life and still a bit secluded on your own SUP board island. The neighborhood of IJburg in Amsterdam is a perfect start for your paddling journey with it’s newly built water paths.
The SUP paradise of Riva del Garda
With this one, we take it a bit more south and in a slightly different city (actually, town) vibe. Surrounded by green mountains, and located on the edge of Lake Garda, this north Italian town is heaven for SUPing. Picturesque buildings, flowers, fresh mountain air, and a vast lake to hop into with your SUP. When you get tired, just go for espresso and gelato right by the waterfront. Ahh, this got us dreaming…
And since there are so many beautiful city SUP spots, we will be back with some more inspiration for you. Until then, keep paddling and if you need a ride, check our iSUPs!
