Description

The Shredder 16" is a part of the range of beginner-friendly BMX bikes from Haro BMX. This version is built for kids age 5-7 years and is the first size in the range that comes with a linear-pull lever-brake setup. This is combined with a coaster brake, activated by feet. This is a super nice way to get into hand-braking whilst still having the comfort of the foot-brake.

The geometry and setup are very versatile and will give your child the option of testing out different disciplines like beating the best lap times at the local BMX-track or for playing around with freestyle tricks at home in the driveway. It will actually also be a nice to use for commuting to and from school.

The bike itself gets 4 stars The hardware is to the usual high standard I have come to expect from a Haro complete. (Every member of our household has one - for good reason) The set-up gets 2 stars Decals dried up and peeling off when I unpacked the bike. Came with a hateful pre-installed coaster (Euro)brake which I spent money having removed becuase even my 6 year old thinks they're a dumb, esepcially on a bmx. Given the moderate saving I made, by the time I've finished correcting these things I'll have probably paid the equivalent to local/domestic prices anyway. Summary - The bikes is good. They're Haro! But buy domestically to ensure you get a setup you recognise and want.
